Hed Kandi 80 - The Mix: Summer 2008
It’s that time of the year again when the major dance labels package up the latest and upcoming hits from the scene into a 3 disc mix package and sell it to the masses. It just wouldn’t be Summer without it!
While I tend to be more of a Fierce Angels advocate, it is quite evident many tracks in the One Phat DJ Podcast have a hint of Kandi about them. It’s unavoidable - my music tastes have evolved from the original Hed Kandi sound and, while they seem to be going over the top with commercialising the brand, they still have the ability to promote some monster tracks and the occasional compilation. The Mix (Summer 2008) is no exception.

Fans of the podcast are sure to enjoy this mix.
I’d take a guess that around 80% of the tunes present have already featured in the podcast over the last year which is probably more of a testament to Hed Kandi than myself (nothing like the occasional ego trip eh?).
The likes of the Freemasons, Shapeshifters, Alex Gaudino and StoneBridge are all in there among many other Hed Kandi favourites.
In case it’s escaped your notice this year, we have been inundated with remix after remix of some Nineties classics so it’s needless to say there are plenty of these thrown in for good measure too - De’Lacy, Happy Clappers, Paul Johnson, Mighty Dub Katz, DONS, Utah Saints and Robin S are just a few.
If you like yout tunes with a bit of Kandi - and I’m sure many regulars to the website are - I suggest you go and grab yourself a copy right away.
You can either buy the CD now from Play, Amazon and Amazon UK or even just download it straight away, with all the tracks unmixed and slightly cheaper, from DJ Download and iTunes.
